3,200 Pounds of Filet Mignon—The Governors Ball By The Numbers

The wait is over. The 2017 Emmy award winners have been announced. The Handmaid’s Tale of nightmarish dystopia and drama won critical acclaim. The fashion magazines published their best dressed and worst dressed. (Will they ever stop?) Stephen Colbert made us laugh (a lot). Records were broken, milestones were reached, and diversity was represented (it’s about damn time).

The awards show is over.

Now what?

The lavish after party.

4,000 winners, nominees and guests zipped over to the Los Angeles Conventions Center for the Governors Ball, the largest television industry event of the year. The actors, producers, directors and others continue the celebration in a room larger than a football field transformed from floor to ceiling to channel the theme of the evening: “Golden Grandeur.”

The Governors Ball was produced by a catering company and event producer who have each done this at least 20 times before. Here is their ultimate insider preparation list.

Oh my, nearly 3 wine glasses are allotted per person!
